The Phantom of the Opera

'Quick! Quick! Close the door! It's him!' Annie Sorelli ran into the dressing-room, her face white. One of the girls ran and closed the door, and then they all turned to Annie Sorelli.
-
I read The Phantom of the Opera. I have heard this title, but I have never read. It's interested for me.

The Coldest Place in Earth

In the summer of 1910, a race began. A race to be the first man at the South Pole, in Antarctica.
I read  The Coldest Place in Earth. The story is about South Pole. I didn't know about there in detail, so I was intersted.

White Death

The woman stood in front of the prison. The prison was a big, dirty building in the biggest town of a hot country.
-
I read White Death. This story was mystery. The beginning of it was written about the young woman, but the main character of this story was her mother. It was great because this book has the limit of words, but it's great mystery. I respect the auther.

The Piano Man

The boat, the boat...where is it? I must find the boat... I'm cold...so cold. Oh, Lida, where are you? How can I find you?
I read The Piano Man. The story is famous for all over the world. The man was found at the sea in London and he drew the picture of the piano. I was surprised that the story was nonfiction.

A Ghost in Love

She said, 'I wasn't at the airport.' (Into the telephone) Laure, one question. Do yu write books now? Yes. Thank you. (Putting the phone down, and speaking to her father and mother)
-
I read A Ghost in Love. This story is not just a novel. It's playscript. I have never seen it in Japanese book, so I'm always surprised at these books.

Mary Queen of Scots

Dear James. Very soon I am going to die, and meet my God. Before I die, I want to write the true story of my life for you.
-
I read Mary Queen of Scots. I felt sad because this story began like letter before she died.  I thought the beginning of it was intersted.

The Witches of Pendle

My name is Jennet Device, and I am one of the twenty women in prison . Day after day, I sit on the cold floor and wait.
-
I read The Witches of Pendle.  I thought this story was not good. It's because the ending of it is bad as if it doesn't finish.
